Happy Birthday, Kyle!

We celebrated Kyle’s birthday on April 14th with strawberry short cake.  Kyle is our resident “clown”–always having a smile on his face and joking around.  The campus truly has become a livelier place since his arrival.  Kyle, we love you and appreciate your sense of humor so much.  You certainly know how to be serious when the moment calls for it, but you also know when a light-hearted laugh is just the right medicine. God bless you, dear brother, in all your endeavors.

Revival Time!

The men of Renewal Ranch experienced a wonderful time of prayer and refreshing on the nights of April 6th, 7th, 13th, and 14th at The Summit Church of North Little Rock, Arkansas.

On Wednesday night, Bro. Bill Elliff welcomed the men and then had people of the congregation gather around each man and intercede earnestly before God for him.
Atlas gave a great testimony saying that “my sufferings have been for my good.”
He explained that when he was in business for himself making a good living and successful in society’s eyes, he felt no need for God in his life.  As his life spiraled downward due to drugs and alcohol, he realized how helpless he was and his need for God.  In that respect, his sufferings had been good for him.
On Thursday night, it was a glorious sight to see the men of Renewal Ranch, in a circle of love crying out to God in thankfulness and love.  Bro. Charles Washington prayed a prayer that all there concluded was truly lifted up in spirit and in truth.
To God be the glory, great things He hath done.

O Glorious Day!

After days of on again-off again rain and cold weather, Saturday morning, April 2nd, dawned gloriously beautiful–warm sunshine and beautiful blue skies. It seemed that God had saved this most glorious of days for us here at Renewal Ranch as we officially “opened” our first bunkhouse doors.

The Dooleys and Dave Hinton were on board to provide lots of good singing.

Atlas shares his testimony.  He ended it with this sentiment–”my life which I thought was a hopeless end, is now an endless hope.”  God bless you, Atlas.  We love and appreciate you so much.

Dr. Larry Pillow, who serves as the chairman of the board of directors and campus chaplain, gives a Word from God.

His daughter, her husband and four children got to be present today–such a beautiful family!
James Loy, director of Renewal Ranch and his wife, Laura, recognize the board of directors and their selfless work in helping make Renewal Ranch a reality.

The perfect day ended late afternoon with some relaxing time on the front porch of the bunkhouse, relaxing in rocking chairs (some of us) and singing and humming along with Shepherd as he entertained us with his great country singing.
Thanks, Shepherd, for always being willing to share your God-given talents.
We also want to recognize Michael Taylor and his precious parents, Bill and Kay. While we were relaxing, they were cleaning up and finding places for lots of leftover food.
And speaking of food, we need to give David Stobaugh of Stoby’s Restaurant in Conway a great big “shout-out” for the delicious bar-be-que lunch they provided for everyone. It was wonderful!
And Merida, the cake you provided for dessert was the best, the very best–thank you so much!
As the maintainer of this website, I know there are so many people behind the scenes providing so many things that I don’t know about–please know that if you contributed in any way to making our grand opening a great success, our hearts are full of gratitude to you. And readers of this site, please feel free to speak up in the comment section and recognize any who I left out. Thanks–
Thank you, God, for a glorious and awesome day. To You be all the glory forever and ever!

Grand Opening

Renewal Ranch Grand Opening is Saturday

By Log Cabin Democrat
Renewal Ranch, a residential counseling home for men with drug and alcohol addiction, will have its grand opening at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Ranch in Houston, Ark.
The public is invited to the ceremony that will include a barbecue lunch.
The Dooleys, Bob Etters, Shepherd Palmer and Dave Hinton will provide musical entertainment.
Renewal Ranch Director James Loy says the non-profit organization is “dedicated to restoring broken lives as a result of drug and alcohol addiction.
“Through the intensive six-month program, clients will receive counseling, Bible study and opportunities to serve others through community work projects.
“They will also receive the education, vocational training and life skills training they need to become productive, contributing members of their families and society.”
The Ranch received its first clients on Jan. 30.
“We have experienced amazing progress in the road to recovery these men are traveling. The men have Bible study each day with area pastors and instructors, they attend worship services at area churches each week and are working to achieve personal and professional goals,” Loy said.
To reach Renewal Ranch from Conway, travel Highway 60 West across Toad Suck Bridge, then 1 mile west to Stony Point Road, turn right onto Stony Point Road, follow Renewal Ranch signs, take Lake Drive to the Renewal Ranch road on right.
